The Movement.

Living in the passenger seat, letting other people decide what is to happen in your life means your happiness depends on other people. It might be a comfortable life, but a life where you won’t reach your potential. It’s somebody else’s life that will never fit completely. A life that won’t wake the spirit within you. In this life you will never feel alive, never feel the overflowing excitement that comes from expressing your strengths, your potential and your vision.

What’s on the other side? On the other side are fear, uncertainty and freedom. The freedom to create the life you want to live. A life full of adventure, authenticity and service.

We become the creator of our story instead of being the victim of our circumstances.

This community is for the ones out there that think they are alone. We are here to show them: They are NOT alone. There is a community for them. Their tribe is waiting for them to join them.

We are a community and we are here to change the world. We are good enough. We are loved for being exactly who we are. We deserve self-love and self-compassion. We are a community and we won’t let you fail. We will help you through any challenge. We are enough and whenever we take a detour we are by each other’s side. We are a tribe. A family. We are the change.

Our Mission.

There are already many alternatives to the traditional route of education, but why do so many young people still feel like they HAVE to go to college. Why is that?

A note by the founder – Jenny Rieger – on college, what we really want and the role of alternatives:

“I have studied (and dropped in) in 5 different countries. There are many educational styles and each country showed very different structures. The ONE thing that was the same though is the uncertainty and confusion among the students. In each country that I studied at there were always students who saw college as a way to find out what they really want to do.

Many people have asked me whether they should go to college or not. My answer has always been the same. While I am a big fan of the social aspects of college, whether it makes sense to go or not depends on your motivation.

Do you want to go after a job where you need a certain degree? Do you want to become a doctor? Well, then college makes sense (for now).

If you really want to travel the world and get paid for it, going to college might only postpone the decision to do so and it might make you not take the plunge at all.

The next question is: how sure are you that the job you are pursuing is the right one? Do you know what it will be like to work that job? Have you interviewed somebody who is currently working in this profession? Why is it that you want to pursue that job?

What are the alternatives?

There are the questions synnection.com is trying to answer for you. We show you alternative ways of learning and living. We are curating and creating sources for you to get inspired to live life on your own terms.

The idea. (or where it started).

Have you ever watched the Dead Poets Society? Amazing movie. It might or might not have sparked the idea for this community. Here is a clip:

“What will your verse be?”

We are not the first who are setting out to start a revolution. We are not the only ones who talk about contrarian learning and living. Nonetheless, it matters. The more people share our vision and start living it today, the more people will be inspired to do the same.

As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence actually liberates others.
